The league was established in 1996 and is currently running with twenty teams spanning of all corners of Devon. 2010/2011 The league accepted three new teams into the league at the June 2010 AGM: Emerald Exiles, Seaton Town and the University of Exeter Reserves. Following the promotion of Exeter City to the regional league and the withdrawal of Lipson United and Okehampton Argyle, the league had a total of 21 teams. It was voted at the AGM to revert back to two divisions. Following the AGM Axminster Town and the Unviersity of Exeter Reserves withdrew from the league and LFC Sparta were accepted as late applicants. The league is therefore running with twenty teams for 10/11, ten teams in both the Premier Division and Division One. League Cup In addition to the League fixtures, the DWFL runs a Cup Competition which all Member Clubs are automatically entered into. Alphington are the current holders of the League Cup beating Exeter & Tedburn Rangers in the 2010 final. County Affiliation The League is affiliated to Devon County Football Association and has promotion links with the South West Regional Women’s Football League.
